Scotland and Stirling are two historic ‘peas in a pod’, with the castle at the epicentre of some of the most iconic and dramatic events in the country’s history; from the crowning of Mary Queen of Scots to key battles for Scottish independence.
A majestic sight, the castle sits proudly atop a cliff of volcanic rock, watching over the sites of two key battlefields, in the fight for Scottish independence.
It was James IV who created this decadent renaissance palace, within and protected by the medieval walls.

Return to Edinburgh via the Glengoyne Distillery and enjoy a whisky and chocolate tasting. You’ll follow the journey our spirit makes – through mashtun and washbacks to the swan-necks of our copper stills. You’ll discover how we capture every ounce of flavour before we send the spirit to the cask. In the cool confines of a stone warehouse, you’ll see where the magic of maturation takes place. We’ll show you how our whisky ages – from the difference the wood makes, to how the spirit deepens in colour over the years. After the tour, you might want to stroll up to the waterfall and the hidden glen – it’s a tranquil spot, the perfect end to the tour.

Old Course Tee-Times. Here are the options when trying to for tee times on the old course.
Advanced Tee Times - There is a window of opportunity to try and secure advance tee times on the Old Course for the following year. I cannot do this your client will need to apply themselves. Applications can be made via an online form 10:00am BST on Wednesday 20 August until midnight Wednesday 3 September 2020 (TBC).
Once all applications have been received a Ballot will be drawn. Only one application is accepted for each group and due to the high demand not every applicant will receive a tee time. The results are released in mid-October.
48 hour Ballot - Nearly half of Old Course tee times each year are allocated to the ballot to give people who have been unable to book a chance of playing. It is drawn 48 hours in advance of play and golfers should provide their names, home club and handicaps either online, by phone or at one of the clubhouses before 2pm, two days before the day they wish to play. To enter there must be a minimum of two and a maximum of four players.
If you are not successful with the advanced tee times and do not want to risk the 48 hour ballot, there are plenty of other courses to choose from including The Castle Course, New Course, Jubilee Course, Eden Course, Strathtyrum Course, Balgove Course all part of the St Andrews Links as well as the Kingsbarns Golf Links.
